BJJ Basics: Attacking the Turtle with the Spinning Arm Bar

Posted Posted in arm bar, Back Attacks, Submissions, Turtle Attacks

BJJ Basics: In today’s video we attempted to attack with the clock choke, our partner blocked the lane to their neck and so we attempted to transition to a half nelson break down and eventually a paper cutter choke.  But then our partner denied that attack by dropping their arm downward.  This opens up the opportunity to the spinning arm bar.

I hope you LIKE it! 😉

Inverted Half Guard to Back Take

Posted Posted in Back Attacks, Half Guard Sweeps, Sweeps

BJJ Basics: In today’s video we are working from the half guard. We’ve successfully defended our head from our partners attempts to hug our head with a seat belt/BJJ cross face. Because of the stalemate our partner switches to the inverted half guard. This create an opportunity to sweep our partner into the mount. But in this instance our partner posts his free leg to stop our sweep which forces us to switch to a back take.

I hope you enjoy it!

Passing Half Guard Arm Triangle Choke to the Ezekiel Choke

Posted Posted in Back Attacks, Half Guard (TOP) Submissions, Passing the Half Guard

BJJ Basics: In today’s video we are working to pass the half guard. In today’s example we have a partner that is framing excessively across our throat which causes us to have to act quickly (or we can lose the position) but also gives us an excellent opportunity for attack. Additionally, once we’ve attacked with our arm triangle they roll away in an attempt to defend the choke. This gives us an excellent opportunity to use the Ezekiel.

I hope you – LIKE – it!
